History

How it all started ...

When Ludwig Friedrich Carl Büsing and Friedrich Ludwig Fasch – at the age of only 28 and 29 – decide in 1883 to set up a trading company for dyed woods, chemicals and oils, Oldenburg is under the Rule of Peter II. (Grand Duke Nikolaus Friedrich Peter). Dietrich Roggemann is mayor and the city has a population of 19,000 (now about 165,000). The two cousins become business partners too and buy a plot of land near the station – 11 Bahnhofstraße – for the sum of 50,000 Goldmarks. Now it can all begin!

A lot has happened since it all began. Today BÜFA counts approximately 500 employees and maintains several locations, predominately in the Oldenburg region but also in different European countries.
