Foundation-friendly climate in Oldenburg – foundation and innovation center "ZUKUNFT.unternehmen"
In the old BÜFA glass hall on the BÜFA cleaning systems site in Ohmstede, something completely new has been created since the beginning of 2020: an innovation center, the “ZUKUNFT.unternehmen” incubator. For this purpose, BÜFA was able to win both GIZ gGmbH and the Barthel Foundation as partners.
Innovations need a place where affordable and flexible space is available, but which also connects stakeholders and fosters creativity. This is exactly what is now gradually being delivered in the old BÜFA Glass Hall. “ZUKUNFT.unternehmen” is to become the beacon for long-term innovation partnerships in the region. In the start-up and innovation incubator, regional businesses can network closely with people interested in founding their own businesses and start-ups involving digital, innovative and sustainable ideas.
“ZUKUNFT.unternehmen” is organized, managed and operated by GIZ gGmbH, an affiliated institute of the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg. The Barthel Foundation lends financial support to the project. The BÜFA Group itself acts not just as the lessor of the property, but also as a cooperation partner in its implementation. Start-ups need a good network and solid support to quickly test the market. Thanks to the incubator (and the connection to the BÜFA Group), a unique concept has been realized that is unique in Lower Saxony and seldom found anywhere else in Germany. Start-ups are offered manifold opportunities here due to the proximity to a regional medium-sized company.
