Warehouse Logistics Specialist (m/f)

Your Start in This Vocational Training

Your first step in the BÜFA world begins with a  "getting acquainted weekend". Before you actually start your vocational training, you will get to meet the other apprentices and your training supervisor who will be your personal contact throughout the entire duration of your vocational training and who will always have an open ear for you.

At a relaxed get-together, BÜFA employees will give you initial insights into your new world of work which saves you having to jump into the deep end by yourself.

Your Tasks and Activities

During your 3-year apprenticeship you can expect the following activities:

  • You will accept incoming goods, control them and store them properly.
  • You will take samples of raw materials in the scope of inspection upon delivery.
  • You will prepare shipping documents (for example delivery notes) and plan delivery tours in the  shipping office.

As a Warehouse Logistics Specialist you will also need a driver’s license for fork-lift trucks and you will receive training for this right at the beginning of your vocational training.

The Course of Your Vocational Training

Training at BÜFA is very diversified. You will go through the different departments, spending a couple months in each. These include the National Shipping Department, the Export Department and the Receiving Department as well as various warehouses.

To learn about working with different kinds of goods and storage systems during your training, you will also switch to other BÜFA Group sites as well as the site of our training partner, Covestro Oldenburg.  In addition,  you will be given insight into associated processes, for example in production.

Soft Skills and Prerequisites

This apprenticeship requires the equivalent to at least a good German "Hauptschulabschluss" [school leaving certificate after 9-10 years of schooling that qualifies you for some vocational training programmes]. In addition, you should also have the following soft skills:

  • Spatial perception
  • Good perception and processing speed
  • Goal-oriented action
  • Fast reactions
  • Eye-hand coordination
  • Ability to plan and organise

Your Post-Training Prospects

If you pass your final exam with a score of 3 or better, you will normally be offered an employment contract for at least 6 months. However, even before this, all apprentices can apply for internal vacancies. And if you have then found the job of your dreams, that’s when things really get going - BÜFA offers their employees numerous and very individual opportunities to further their qualifications  and education. From extra-occupational studies all the way to specialisation in a certain subject area, anything is possible ... because our employees are the real capital and heart of our company.

The deadline for applications for the year of training begins in the respective summer holidays and ends on October 31st of the prior year. The selection process takes place after this date.

You can get your vocational training as a Warehouse Logistics Specialist at the following sites – however, your application must be made centrally.
