BÜFA®-Tooling Gelcoat ensures the production of high-tech quality moulds.

Hatchher CH 16340S

Hatcher Components Ltd. is specialised in the design, development and manufacture of GRP aerodynamic and conversion solutions for commercial vehicles. Their product is sold throughout the UK and Europe with customers ranging from leading manufacturers through to end users.

They have manufactured GRP components for 50 years, using BÜFA materials supplied by BÜFA´s Distribution Partner in UK (Euroresins UK since the year 2000).

Hatcher Components produce all of their production tooling using the BÜFA®-VE-Tooling-Gelcoat handquality. The GRP components are made using the BÜFA®-ISO-Gelcoat 3000 range in both spray and brush format.

The BÜFA®-ISO-Gelcoat 3000 in handquality has been used since its introduction to the market and the BÜFA®-ISO-Gelcoat 3000 spray is used since 2017. They are specialised in the design and development of air management kits that enhance vehicle aerodynamics and reduce fuel consumption (exterior cab spoilers) and interior cab storage lockers. When installed, the lockers look as good as if they were factory-fitted, matching the style and colour of the interior. They are full width and fit across the rear of the cab roof, without compromising the space of the bunk below.  E.g. the three compartments offer up to 500 litres of additional secure space, depending on fitted options. The compartments are fully partitioned and the lockable doors all have gas strut stays.

“The BÜFA®-VE-Tooling-Gelcoat has allowed us to produce quality tooling, helping reduce our development period of new products whilst providing a vastly improved tool surface finish. BÜFA®-ISO-Gelcoat 3000 gives superior colour stability and gloss retention to our product that is subjected to some of the worst weather conditions that the UK has to offer on a daily basis. The ability to achieve fast and precise colour matches here in the UK combines with the short lead time on material from Euroresins UK, allows us to rapidly respond to our ever-changing customer requirements.” says  Neil Smith, Works Manager at Hatcher Components. “The BÜFA®-ISO-Gelcoat 3000 handquality is used for manual application and the BÜFA®-ISO-Gelcoat 3000 sprayquality is used in conjunction with BÜFA®-Tec GSU ES1 machines on the RTM production line.”
